About this Process

ITSO enforces the ITSO Advertising Policy, which governs how REALTORS® may advertise real estate services and listings within its jurisdiction. Incident reports are reviewed by ITSO staff, who determine whether an investigation is warranted.

Reports cannot be filed anonymously pursuant to CREA’s Bylaws and Rules. However, ITSO does not need to disclose the Complainant’s identity to the Respondent where the advertisement was public and the evidence submitted does not require explanation or interpretation.

Filing Requirements
  • Reports must be filed no more than 180 days following the date upon which the circumstances giving rise to the incident arose.
  • The report must include sufficient details and a clear timeline for ITSO to assess jurisdiction.
  • Supporting evidence — screenshots, links, or photos — should be included where available.
  • Complainants may request that their identity be withheld from the Respondent where permitted.
  • Fields that are unknown or not applicable may be left blank or filled with N/A.
