Complaints are reviewed by the Professional Standards Committee, who determine whether the conduct alleged constitutes a violation of the MLS® Rules or the REALTOR® Code.
Complaints cannot be filed anonymously. All parties are notified throughout the process in accordance with CREA’s Bylaws and Rules.
- Complaints must be filed no more than 180 days following the date of the conduct giving rise to the complaint.
- The complaint must include a detailed statement of all facts.
- The Respondent’s full name, Member ID, and brokerage must be provided where known.
- Supporting documentation should accompany the complaint wherever possible.

ITSO administers arbitration in accordance with the ITSO Arbitration Policy. By filing a claim, the Claimant’s brokerage and the Respondent agree to resolve the dispute through binding arbitration. The decision of the arbitrators is final.
Arbitration is limited to commission and cooperative compensation disputes between REALTORS® and their respective brokerages operating within ITSO’s jurisdiction.

ITSO enforces the ITSO Advertising Policy, which governs how REALTORS® may advertise real estate services and listings within its jurisdiction. Incident reports are reviewed by ITSO staff, who determine whether an investigation is warranted.
Reports cannot be filed anonymously pursuant to CREA’s Bylaws and Rules. However, ITSO does not need to disclose the Complainant’s identity to the Respondent where the advertisement was public and the evidence submitted does not require explanation or interpretation.
- Reports must be filed no more than 180 days following the date upon which the circumstances giving rise to the incident arose.
- The report must include sufficient details and a clear timeline for ITSO to assess jurisdiction.
- Supporting evidence — screenshots, links, or photos — should be included where available.
- Complainants may request that their identity be withheld from the Respondent where permitted.
- Fields that are unknown or not applicable may be left blank or filled with N/A.
